About the client
The Pentecostals of Sydney is a church based in Campsie. It has a large multi-cultural congregation and is the only branch which owns its building.
The congregation had outgrown their premises and needed to upgrade to accommodate more people but didn’t want to move locations.
The church also needed to find ways to keep costs under control for ongoing maintenance and ensure the amenities were able to provide for their congregation.
After being referred for this project by MLR Architects, we were delighted to be awarded by the builder to get involved.
The building was gutted for a full renovation using just the shell as a base. We provided the electrical services, structured data communication, fire detection and occupant warning systems for this project. The specialist services installation value was about $500K. This 13 month project was completed ahead of schedule with commendations from the building engineer, lighting consultant and architect.
To help the church lower their electricity bills, we worked with the electrical engineer to re-design some lighting areas to include energy efficiency improvements and extensive LED lighting.
The church features a large metal cross on the roof which would have acted as a magnet for a lightning strike. To protect the building and the occupants, we installed a lightning protection system. Unfortunately, there are many instances where this step is forgotten when installing large metal structures on roofs.
After we completed the project, the client found the constant use of the building resulted in wear and tear of light fittings and some of the high power lamps needed replacing along with other maintenance.
They employed an adhoc strategy for maintenance which was costing considerable outlay to have irregular service visits and repairs as well as the strain of trying to find a quality electrician.
Excel Tradeworks was asked to provide our EASYRIT™ Program to look after their regular electrical maintenance. The program provides ongoing routine inspection, testing and reporting of the entire site so the client is kept up to date with their current status of their electrical investment. To make it easy for the client to budget their maintenance costs, we provide an easy monthly direct debit.
Since being re-engaged, we have managed to save the client considerable thousands of dollars for their repairs as their investment is closely managed and monitored on a regular scheduled plan.
