Australian Brewery Hotel

The Australian Brewery Hotel is a large venue in Sydney’s North West. The venue features indoor and outdoor bars as well as function, dining and gaming areas. There is also a night club.

The owner purchased an old warehouse which was to be stripped and refitted. We were engaged to install the fire detection and occupant warning system for the premises. The challenge was the client wanted minimal visual intrusion on the patrons from the system.

For this project, we ensured the fire detection system components were camouflaged using black detectors and all wiring concealed at high level ceilings in excess of 10 metres. Using elevated platforms, our team negotiated across carpeted floors, around the concrete bar and fixed custom made tables which were installed very early in the project.

Working with the client and the BCA consultant, Excel was able to ensure the fire system complied with strict requirements for nightclubs. We reworked the designs to include missing spill fans. This along with the visual indication to warn patrons of a fire emergency ensured that the project met the Building Code.

We were able to keep this challenging project ahead of schedule with the construction program.
